Our company imports a man made gas that is used by the utility industry. No one in the US makes this gas and the duty on the import from Russia causes the utility industry to have to raise prices to the end consumer.

We have lost more than $60,000 this year due GSP. We import Granite stones that are not available in US. These beautiful color stones are available only overseas. American people need the choice of these beautiful stones. We have 22 jobs in line and relying on this business. So we need GSP to renewed right away to survive this year.

“My company manufactures belts in the city of San Francisco. We are one of the last remaining US manufacturers in our industry. We have utilized all of the technological innovations available to us to remain competitive in our field. We employ 125 people in our factory. The leather we use from overseas is no longer available domestically, and we count on GSP to help maintain our viability as a manufacturer.”

GSP expiration has cost my company $1,500 this year. That may not sound like a lot, but I am starting my company and any savings help to reach break-even and grow my business.
The products I am importing from the Philippines and Thailand are hand-made and are not putting any American jobs at risk.

We manufacture footwear components from sole leather purchased in Argentina. Our customer base is comprised primarily of domestic footwear manufacturers. Our largest customers are based in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Texas, Maine, Washington and of course, here in Pennsylvania.
There is no sole leather made in the USA today, thus it has to be imported. The higher cost due to the expiration of the GSP threatens not only jobs in our factory in Williamsport, but literally coast to coast.
